Yeah, I saw that new version of the Shining too. The less said about that, the better! I'm always a bit anxious when I hear they're making a movie of one of his books these days... for every Shawshank Redemption, there's a Maximum Overdrive... :-)
The new one, yes i watched it but do think that the older versions are better. I remember when they did the new one of The Shining, because Stephen King apparently did not like the new one, i watched first half hour and did not watch ever again. J...
Salem's Lot used to terrify me! When I was a kid they showed that one over two nights as well. I've got the full version now, and although in some places its dated badly, there's still something really creepy about it.

- Truth be told, I haven't read any of Kings last couple of novels. I tried to get into Lisey's Story and found it hard going. But then I think it could just be a phase, I'll probably come back to it.
I really like some of the James Herbert stuff I've read; I loved the Rats books, and recently read the Magic Cottage, which I couldn't put down!

- I'm a huge King fan, yeah. Started when I had to get my dad a book for his birthday, and spotted 'It', which had just come out. The artwork on the cover was incredible, just these two glowering eyes peering out from inside a storm drain. I read it the minute my dad finished it (although I was a bit too young to get some of it), and I've been hooked on all things King ever since.
