Now, I'm pretty new to comics, but I've been working on improving my skills over the past two or three years...one thing I really need work on is lettering, though.
Computer lettering was a possibility, I was thinking of using an existing free font or making one with a font creator program. But after looking through my comics collection and seeing examples of both, I decided that hand lettering, although slow, gives it a more professional look.
So I got myself some equipment and that's what I've been working on this month...there's a lot more to it than I expected, though.
For example, I came up with a nice font of my own, based on a free font called 'Blippo Light SF', which looked quite nice by itself. After putting it into a strip, it looked really distracting next to the artwork, sort of like wearing stripes with tartan :)
I'm now trying something much less fancy...
I found this to be a good straightforward guide so far.
